Data We Collect

Calculator inputs: Your calculator inputs (distance, MPG, fuel price, etc.) are stored locally in your browser using localStorage. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to any server. You can clear this data at any time through your browser settings.

Contact form: If you use our contact form, your name, email address, and message are sent via EmailJS to our email inbox. We use this data solely to respond to your enquiry. We do not add you to mailing lists or share your contact details with third parties.

Analytics: We use Google Analytics 4 to collect anonymised usage data such as page views, session duration, and general geographic region. This helps us understand how the site is used and improve it. Google Analytics does not collect personally identifiable information.

Advertising: We display ads through Google AdSense, which may use cookies to serve personalised ads based on your browsing history. You can manage your ad preferences through Google's privacy controls or through the consent dialog shown when you first visit the site.

How We Protect Your Data

We take data security seriously, even though we store minimal information. All calculator data remains strictly local on your device — it is never sent over the internet, encrypted or otherwise. Our infrastructure uses industry-standard practices to protect server-side systems where applicable, such as secure handling of contact form submissions via EmailJS. We do not store IP addresses, browser fingerprints, or any other identifiers beyond what Google Analytics provides in anonymised form. While no system is 100% impervious to risk, our architecture is designed to minimise exposure: sensitive inputs like fuel prices or route details are processed entirely client-side using JavaScript, with no backend storage. This means even if our servers were compromised, no user calculation data would be accessible.

Children’s Privacy

Our services are not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have unintentionally collected information from a child, please contact us immediately using the details below, and we will delete it promptly. As a fuel cost calculation tool, our primary audience is adult drivers and fleet managers making practical financial decisions — but we welcome users of all ages as long as they understand how to use the calculator responsibly. Parents and guardians are encouraged to review this policy with their children and monitor their online activity.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal obligations, or site functionality. When we do, we will revise the 'Last updated' date at the top of this page and, where material, notify users via a prominent banner or announcement on the site.
